In New York City, pick-up basketball is akin to being a religion. With over 700 courts, the city’s basketball scene has long been a touchstone of the city’s cultural sense of self; musicians, artists, & countless professional players all speak to the importance of this facet of living in NYC.
DOIN’ IT IN THE PARK: PICK-UP BASKETBALL, NYC meticulously captures this movement through the voices of playground legends, NBA athletes, and everyday fixtures of the scene. Directors Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau visited 180 courts throughout NYC’s five boroughs to create their debut documentary.
