Video: Banksy Piece Destroyed in Australia

An original Banksy piece worth an estimated $50,000 has been destroyed in Prahran, Australia, according to news sources. The piece, which features one of Banksy’s iconic spray-painted rats, was demolished to make way for new plumbing (the construction crew responsible did so unknowingly). In the world of street art it’s hard to say how profound the loss actually is; the woman interviewed above believes that the mysterious UK artist would actually find the event quite funny.

people who believe that street art is meant to last or just wrong. this is the spirit of this kind of “art”. The piece live is own life…

and sorry, but doing an estimation on this kind of things are just wrong. it belongs to everybody and nobody. no one has property over this…

from “street art” to “fine art in the street” ?
