These handsome lace-ups from Vans were designed by Taka Hayashi who has also been reworking many of the brand’s staple pieces. The Vans Derby is just beginning to hit Vault stores and is likely to be a popular look for Spring. Hayashi takes the classic Derby shoe as his inspiration and then reworks it by adding some creative details. Triangular perforations on the toe and heel, lace tabs on the tongue, and a crepe sole give this iconic shoe a more modern, casual feel while still being totally appropriate for those days when your favourite sneakers just aren’t.
