Working out of Bogota, Columbia, photographer Mariaelisa Duque has created a visually fascinating photo series titled simply ‘Vanity.’ The images, which feature a woman’s face in various levels of obstruction and distortion, work to analyze the nature of appearances and how these are informed by both ourselves and society at large. Carefully executed and edited, Duque’s ‘Vanity’ series is a project that promises to intrigue the viewer and ignite thought.
