Manifesto Festival 2008 – From Block to Block

Manifesto Festival 2008 brings you From Block to Block – one day, two block parties, one city.

First up is the Younited Neighbourhood Festivals ‘Live from Scarborough’ hosted by Big Norm & Klymatik. This outdoor jam features Scarborough’s finest b-boys throwing it down alongside live graf and a ‘barber battle’ that aims to crown the king of the clippers. The event includes ‘T-Off'; a fashion extravaganza displaying the hottest T-shirt designs on offer. ‘Live from Scarborough’ takes place from 12-8pm at Scarborough Civic Centre (160 Borough Drive, Scarborough) and it’s free to all.

Over in North York is ‘Move On Up 2 $1500 Dance Competition’ presented by Rated Inc. where 15 dance crews will battle it out for the grand prize and the respect of the Hip-Hop community at large. Hosted by Trixx & Brooklyn, Move On Up 2 features the likes of Twisted Ankles and Rated X. Judging honours go to Trey Armstrong, Click, Ponytails and Jai Holeness whilst Red Linkz and Versatile lay down the beats. So make sure to be at Earl Bales Park, Barry Zukerman Amphitheatre (4155 Bathurst Street, North York) between 3-5pm. Admission is $5.
