Heyday Footwear’s Super Smooth Boot appeared in our September 2010 archive in a rustic brown colourway. The original report described oiled brown nubuck and waxed cotton laces, contrasting it with a grey-canvas Homeroom collaboration. Those are historical descriptions, not a verified specification for a pair being sold today.
Workwear influence, streetwear styling
The boot’s appeal in the original feature was its workwear-inspired look: an earthy upper and sturdy-looking silhouette that could be paired with jeans or corduroy. An outdoorsy appearance does not establish weather protection, safety certification or suitability for hiking. Choose it for the outfit you want to build, and check any functional requirements separately.

- Ask for photographs of the actual pair, including both soles, the lining, tongue and size markings—not just old promotional images.
- Check heel wear, stitching and the upper-to-sole join. Ask about separation, repairs and damage around flex points.
- Confirm the material and finish before selecting care products. A brown upper or a similar silhouette is not enough to identify an edition.
If possible, try the boots with the socks you intend to wear. Check toe room, heel movement and ankle pressure; if buying remotely, confirm sizing information and return terms. We have not inspected, authenticated or wear-tested a surviving pair.
