Italian designer Gaetano Pesce and furniture company Cassina have come together to create SESSANTUNA, a unique piece of design celebrating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. The idea? Sixty one separate tables, each representing, and shaped for a piece of Italy. When locked together, the tables form the shape of the modern nation of Italy. The first five tables are up for auction at Phillips de Pury auction house in London, while the remainder will see staggered release to auction houses in New York and London throughout the year.
