Californian artist Fred Tomaselli’s first solo exhibition at White Cube in Mason’s Yard, UK, displays a volatile, talented artist on top of his game. His exhibit is extremely diverse, featuring paintings, newsprint collages, photograms, woven tapestries, and mixed media offerings. As a product of both the tail end of the hippie era and the burgeoning punk era, his work is seemingly conflicted between nihilistic and euphoric. Look no further than ‘Carbomb,’ for example, a painting of a violent explosion backed on a serene sunrise. The previews we’ve seen look amazing, so check it out if you’re in the UK.
