Now that you can Torrent just about everything, musicians are looking to value-add to their releases things you just can’t download, like, say, a crazy Flaming Lips ‘Gummy Skull’ with a USB jammed inside… The Flaming Lips were quoted as telling Rolling Stone that, “The dilemma is whether we’re going to release it on vinyl, cereal boxes, or some of it on toys that we make.” Well, for their latest they went with a USB, a USB embedded in a gummy skull, which presumably you’re supposed to eat to get to the goods… Interesting. As far as we can tell, the four-song release retails for $150 and is already sold out. Guess people must be hungry.
