Check out this trailer for Downtown Calling, a new film about the state of New York City in the 1970s. Though priding itself as the world’s greatest city, NYC suffered from institutionalized corruption, failing social programs, rising crime and poverty, and an exploding population.
An intriguing look at how the have-nots and wannabes in the world’s biggest city birthed the subcultures that would set the world’s cutural pace for the next thirty years. Downtown Calling will premier at the New York International Latino Film Festival, on July 28th, 2010.
