As the Miami Heat began their NBA title defense last night at American Airlines Arena against the (who else?) Boston Celtics, LeBron James took to the court in a “Championship Gold†edition of his signature Nike LeBron X shoe. Featuring a metallic gold Hyperfuse upper with red and white Heat “Home†accents, the shoes see metallic gold speckling on both the white midsole and iced outsole, with “MVP†and “CHAMP†graphics appear on the sides of each sneaker. Finally, as a nod to King James’ historic performance in last year’s NBA Playoffs, the number of points the reigning regular season and Finals MVP scored in the postseason appears alongside the left shoe’s “MVP†detailing.
