Ludwig Van, an outfit known for sourcing insanely rare deadstock vintage pieces, has teamed up with Gourmet on this “Utility Project” line of sneakers. Utilizing original fabrics sourced by Ludwig Van, two Gourmet sneaker silhouettes – the Cinque and Quattro Skate – received a new life and aesthetic. Consisting of two halves, the first half, dubbed “DDR†utilizes original German “Raindrop Camouflage†from the 1960’s. The second, titled “Kilgore,†makes use of original US Army twill from the early 1970s and dead-stock “Walls Outdoor Duck” canvas. Vegetable-tanned leather accents, terry cloth liners and custom shoe bags and boxes complete the offering.
