Famed graffiti artist Shepard Fairey was appointed to illustrate the cover of the book ‘The Medium is the Massage’ written by late Canadian scholar Marshal MacLuhan. Those familiar with Fairey will recognize elements of his work with contrasting colors of red, black and white that produces a silhouette effect. Look for copies to hit the Obey store in the coming weeks.
Yo, Shepard Fairey’s not a graffiti artist, he’s a street artist, he does paste ups, that’s why he has that “silhouette” effect although last time I checked silhouettes didn’t have light and shade.
