After graduating from art school in New York, Los Angeles-based artist James Jean cut his teeth as a cover illustrator for DC Comics. The rich graphic language of his work lent itself well to comic art and is still very present in his work today. Buxom fairies mingle with elephants and psychotropic swirls in this series called The Lotus War. It’s a totally beautiful and violent fantasy. Check out the series below.
