The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art presents a new exhibition entitled New Chicago Comics which runs from January 8-30, 2011. The exhibition features work from four young Chicago-based artists, Lili Carré, Jeffrey Brown, Anders Nilsen, and Paul Hornschemeier.
While all being illustrators and animators, each artist works in a style that is very much their own. The work of these promising young artists develops and challenges patrons’ perceptions of what kind of art belongs in an art gallery by lifting these images off of the page and on to the wall. Chicago is known for its comics – New Chicago Comics continues to build that reputation by presenting some of the Windy City’s most talented artists in the form.
