Well actually, with concrete. Artist Erik J. Sommer creates highly textured and enigmatic pieces of art by applying concrete and paint directly to his canvases. With names like “King Phillip I” and “Red Balloon(I Wish I Was A)” you get the impression that there is some story bound up in the pieces which remains hidden behind a layer of concrete.
