Usually I associate Quiksilver footwear more with the classic skate style (low, chunky, fat tongue for ankle support), so it’s remarkable to see them make a play for the more fashion-conscious skater and surfer, territory that has been proven viable by brands like Nike SB and Vans. The RF1 is the signature model for pro-skater Reese Forbes, who wanted a work boot aesthetic with total skateability. Available in black or grey suede and red leather, they are almost a little too sweet to scuff up. But damn you’ll look good doing it.
