Furniture designer Brian Tepfenhart has been busy at work with this unique concept; the 8to3 Transformational Furniture series, which includes furniture that can be manipulated in to different furniture. The first of the three to be released is this table/bench idea. Made from Hard Maple, the bases and supports are Peruvian Walnut and Walnut Ply, and the ends are solid Cherry. According to Tepfenhart the inspiration for this piece was a desire to have a fully functional dining table for a large group of friends but in the space of a small apartment that rarely needs a table that large. So when not being used as a dining table, this piece folds into a 3-person bench with two folding end tables.
