Todd Selby is something of a photographic auteur and during his recent trip to Australia, he took 24 portraits of people in the Sydney creative industry; compiling them together into a book, he’s calling it ‘The Sydney Book’. His photographic work is alarmingly honest, showing the soul of the subjects in a way that a lot of photographers can’t. Remarkably, he doesn’t do this with candids, but carefully considered posed shots which makes his work that much more impressive. The book catalogs Todd’s trip in spring of 2009, and the book is a mix of photographs and lush watercolors. The first edition of the book is available here now and limited to 1000 signed prints.
