Rob van der Ende is a sculptor based in the Netherlands who uses salvaged wood to create bas-relief wall mounted works of art. Using found pieces of wood van der Ende creates photorealistic sculptures of industrial and space age objects. Van der Ende explains, “The original color and texture of the wood is utilized to form a gripping and sometimes photorealistic mosaic. The realism is further enhanced by the perspective built into the relief.” The result is a series of striking and darkly humourous works of art. Check out some images of van der Ende’s work below.
