Reebok has teamed up with artist Ryan McGinness to create a capsule collection of sneakers. Born and raised in the surf and skate culture of Virginia Beach, McGinness later moved to New York bringing with him a refreshing graphic sensibility and an aesthetic language that referenced contemporary iconography, signage, and corporate logos.
McGinness worked with Reebok to create a collection inspired by his own daily experiences as an artist. The range includes shoes designed for various activities and parts of the day – from painting to partying. The sneakers’ black, magenta, yellow, and blue colourway is inspired by the CMYK colour model of printing. The collection will be released throughout the course of 2011 and is available through Lane Crawford.
