Like many other photographers, Brian Kelley felt a responsibility as an artist to take to the darkened and dangerous streets of New York City to capture the havoc of Hurricane Sandy through his lens. “Into The Darkness” captures the astonishing emptiness of one of the world’s most populated areas; still the city seems to stand tall against what approaches it, unafraid. Traveling through the LES, China Town and SoHo, daybreak brought with it a more precise and definitive representation of the destruction.
