The 2010 FIFA World Cup is less than a month away, and it’s the perfect chance for Nike athletes like Wayne Rooney to write their names in history – for good or for bad. In this advert, Nike takes a look into a possible future, where Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney botched a long pass which was intercepted by French midfield general Franck Ribery. Brought low by his mistake, Rooney is dropped as Nike’s posterboy, and ekes out an existence in a trailer park.
