The documentation of Detroit’s spectacular decay and renewal continues with this video from filmmakers Lea Dyrup Jensen, Line Simonsen, and Simon Post. The film follows young citizens of Detroit as they visit the mega ruin of Michigan Central Station and discuss ways of reclaiming the monumental building.
We’ve already covered the ruins of Detroit from a couple of different angles. But what seemed at first to just be a story about some amazing photographs has turned out to be a pretty controversial issue. It seems many Detroiters don’t appreciate their city being cast as an urban wasteland and are eager to point out the positive efforts being made in the city. This video adds another voice to the chorus. Check it out below.
