John Michael Gill’s intricately designed sculptures appear to be an indirect ode to the late Basquiat (whose technique Gill seems to get great inspiration from) with a modern twist. Not sure if the whole Basquiat influence on painters is getting tired as of yet, but Gill’s work is a refreshing step back from all the incessant egocentricity that many artists seem to ride on nowadays.
