The Ottawa Art Gallery plays host to Intersections, a new exhibition by Eric Sze-Lang Chan. Exploring the interplay and relationships between computer art and conventional art, Chan’s work is an event-driven exhibition, with algorithms drawing real-time information from the internet and using it to generate a visual output, as seen by the gallery’s patrons.
Curated by Andrea Fantona, the Gallery’s Curator of Contemporary Art, the piece is an excellent look at the growing role of technology in art and our lives. Intersections opened, May 20th, 2010. There is a talk with the artist scheduled for June 2nd, and a workshop on June 10th, before the exhibition closes on August 1st, 2010.
