California artist, Barry McGee has risen the waves as one of the most renowned and influential artists of our generation. A painter and graffiti artist from San Fransisco, McGee has travelled the world to some of art’s highest platforms with his radical, urban, and uniquely California artworks. Bringiing it back to homeland California, McGee has been invited to set up his unique clusters of pattern, shape, and colour for the Oakland Museum of California.
The video is a comprehensive look into McGee’s process, as he coordinates his bright geometric designs into a final configuration for the Museum. With commentary by Rene de Guzman, the Museum’s Senior Curator, and Ted Cohen, the Exhibit Director, the video is a short glimpse of modern genius.
