Converse has long provided a fantastic canvas for collaborators to showcase their talents, and textile behemoth Missoni really shines with this Fall/Winter 2012 ‘Archive Project'; their sixth season collaborating together. Created underneath the Converse First String line, the limited edition collaboration collection features a series of 20 versions that are made up from deadstock Missoni textile patterns. The models selected for the collection are the Converse Auckland Racer and Pro Leather being used for the one-of-a-kind mock-ups.
The Missoni x Converse “Archive Project†is slated to release on Friday, September 28, through retailer colette in Paris. In addition to the release, the duo tapped London-based artist, Gary Card to curate a psychedelic installation at colette that accurately reflects the all-over-print motifs of the sneakers. Additionally, an accompanying hand-numbered, hardback book will be released in conjunction with the shoes in limited quantities.
