Google’s Street View caused a lot of excitement when it first came out. “Where could the possibilities take us?” people cried. Answering that question, Google launched the Google Art Project which allows anyone with an internet connection to virtually tour some of the world’s best and most famous museums. No doubt though, much of the art worth seeing in a given city isn’t necessarily inside museums. A lot of it are on the streets, like the Kieth Haring mural above.
That’s where RedBull comes in. The innovative folks at the energy drink company have created the Street Art View application which allows users to check out street art around the world. Using views from Google’s Street View they present some of the best and worst street art in the world. Some of it’s awesome, some really isn’t. But that’s the whole point of this internet thingy – it doesn’t judge.
